Meet Loryn Castleberry

Castleberry Floral is a one-person studio on 500 North in Provo, and the person is Loryn Castleberry. She has been making wedding florals for 8 years, and she started the business because it was the work she already loved doing.

How she got here

Loryn started making wedding florals back in middle school and fell in love with being part of couples’ special days. That is not a marketing origin story invented after the fact; it is simply how long she has been doing this. Eight years on, it is a business rather than something she does for people she knows.

She also got married herself this summer. That matters more than it might sound, because it means the months before a wedding are recent rather than theoretical to her — the budget conversations, the vendor deadlines, the moment you realise nobody has worked out who is carrying the flowers to the venue. She has planned that from your side of the table.

How she works

Flowers are cut fresh daily and arranged to order. Nothing is pulled from a cooler of pre-made bouquets, which is the single biggest difference between a florist and a supermarket flower aisle.

Every wedding is quoted in writing before you commit, covering blooms, colours, sizing and price together. Couples are welcome to bring a Pinterest board and it is genuinely the fastest way to get to what they want — one bride told us everything looked like the photos she had shown us, only better.

The night before your wedding, Loryn sends a video of your finished bouquet showing what it looks like and how to handle it. Then she delivers and sets up herself. She has driven a single bouquet to a venue rather than make the couple collect it, which is the kind of thing a one-person studio can do and a larger operation generally cannot.

Away from the studio

She is on the water whenever she can be, with Lake Powell the standing favourite. She is relearning the piano, and she is outnumbered by two dogs.
