We work from your bouquet outward, so the bridesmaid pieces are recognisably the same family in a smaller, simpler form, and the boutonnieres pick up one or two blooms from it.

Every piece is labelled and grouped by person when it arrives, so nobody is standing over a box on the morning trying to work out which boutonniere belongs to which groomsman. If pinning is going to be a problem, tell us and we will handle it during setup.

Boutonnieres are the most-handled and least-planned item in any order. They are pinned by somebody with no practice, worn through a ceremony and a meal, and photographed constantly. We build them on a stem that will take a pin without collapsing, and we will pin them ourselves during setup if that is easier.

Flower crowns are the other piece worth settling early, particularly for flower girls. A crown that is beautiful and slightly too heavy will be on the floor within the hour. Sizing them to the actual child rather than to an average is most of the job.

The list also tends to include people nobody counted at first: mothers and grandmothers, an officiant, a ring bearer, whoever is doing a reading. Walking through the ceremony in order and asking who is standing at the front is the fastest way to get it right.
